An improv workshop in English. We play, act, and live the language instead of studying it — making magnificent mistakes and laughing until it hurts, phones away, actually connecting with each other.

El enfoque

The approach

Cada sesión de 90 minutos empieza y termina con veinte minutos de estiramiento y fonética en inglés — contamos, nombramos partes del cuerpo, damos y seguimos instrucciones, y afinamos el oído en los pares de sonidos que más le cuestan a un hispanohablante (th sonora y sorda, b y v, s y z, sh y ch), cerrando siempre con un trabalenguas, solo por diversión.

Every 90-minute session opens and closes with twenty minutes of stretching and phonetics in English — counting, naming body parts, giving and following instructions, and tuning the ear to the sound pairs that trip up Spanish speakers most (voiced and voiceless th, b and v, s and z, sh and ch), always wrapping up with a tongue twister, just for fun.

El resto del tiempo es improvisación pura. Un día jugamos Zip Zap Zop para despertar el cuerpo y el ritmo del grupo; otro día armamos escenas de a dos con Mirror o Yes, And…, donde cada idea del compañero se acepta y se construye sobre ella, nunca se bloquea. Contamos historias colectivas palabra por palabra en One Word Story, jugamos con personajes inventados en Party Quirks, y a veces una escena se congela a mitad de camino con Freeze Tag para que otra persona la retome desde cero. No hay ensayo, no hay guión — se celebra el error, y el objetivo es perder el miedo, comunicar y reír, no hablar perfecto.

The rest of the time is pure improv. One day we play Zip Zap Zop to wake up the body and the group’s rhythm; another day we build two-person scenes with Mirror or Yes, And…, where every idea a partner offers gets accepted and built on, never blocked. We tell collective stories one word at a time in One Word Story, play with invented characters in Party Quirks, and sometimes a scene freezes mid-way with Freeze Tag so someone new can pick it up from scratch. No rehearsal, no script — mistakes are celebrated, and the goal is losing the fear, communicating, and laughing, not speaking perfectly.

No hace falta experiencia previa en inglés ni en teatro. Vienen adultos de todos los niveles y todas las edades a moverse, jugar, y conectar con otros lejos de las pantallas.

No prior English or theater experience required. Adults of every level and every age show up to move, play, and connect with each other, phones away.
